When it comes to doing Marketing, most small business owners hold a belief that they can only lead the horse to the water….but they cannot make the horse to drink it

i.e. they can only talk about the benefits / problems they can solve for their prospects but they cannot make them spend money. Right?

Well this belief comes at a cost to your business as in you get the claps / likes / engagements on your marketing content but your prospects do not spend money with you.

Real consequences of this mistake are….

  1. You give more than you should as part of your marketing
  2. Your prospects take the free content and
  3. Your prospects do not sign up to working with you

How about if there was a way to make the horse really thirsty? So instead of talking about the problems you solve/benefits of working with you, try to build a system that helps your prospects see the depth and breadth of your offer by only sharing the Why and What along with a partial How.

As a results you will notice….

  1. Your prospects will see you as the only person who can help them complete the How / solution to their problem
  2. Your prospects would want to know how you can help them implement
  3. Your prospects will start to see the value in your free content let alone the benefits of working with you

So next time you think about Marketing, think about how to feed the horses with salt before showing them the water to drink. And I promise they will drink it.
